DIOCESE OF SOUROZH ANNUAL CONFERENCE
BECOMING ORTHODOX :
ACQUIRING THE MIND OF CHRIST

May 15th - 17th, Highgate House, Creaton, Northamptonshire

The Sourozh Diocesan Conference is an annual gathering of clergy and laity from Britain and Ireland. It was established in the 1970’s by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom). Each year there is a theme addressed by invited speakers and discussed by the participants. The Conference also provides a valuable opportunity for the members of our extensive diocese to meet one another face to face.

Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, ... Who emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant (Phil 2:5,7). What does it mean to acquire the mind (phronema) of Christ? Are there particular challenges in this for converts from Western confessions, or for cradle Orthodox whose worldview is shaped by the presuppositions of modernity? What practical steps can we take to enable the process of the renewing of our minds? What is the role of the family and the church community in forming the Orthodox phronema

The Conference will explore the theme in a series of talks, seminars and group discussions and there will be a special programme for children aged 5 - 15.

The cost of the weekend will be £255 and includes all meals; for children aged 6-16 years, £85.
Day attendance is also possible. Talks will be given in English or Russian, with translation.
As far as resources allow, some financial assistance will be available for those who cannot otherwise afford the full amount of the fees – please apply at once.
